French Island Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil ( NASAA Certifed Organic - Registration No 3598 ) is made up of 3 varieties of olive – corregiola, verdale and frantoio – a truly Italian oil! It has been assessed as very good quality oil by an expert tasting panel from the Gippsland Olive Grower's Association who awarded it a gold appellation. Our oil has a pleasant grass and apple first impression followed by a delightful pepper finish and should be used as fresh as possible in order to fully appreciate its flavours and health benefits. It will of course keep for 12 months in a cool, dark place. We are happy to provide some suggested uses and recipes - one way is to use the oil is as a dip with fresh bread and dukkah, a nutty spicy dip of Middle Eastern origins. We have adapted several dukkah recipes to produce our own – also for sale! |
