"Former academics Jane Unwin and Alison Pitt grow organic olives and offer a gourmet treat with French Island Llama Experience. On arrival I was introduced to an appaloosa llama with liquid brown eyes and velvet soft muzzle. Domingo was to carry my gear and provisions as I strolled to a picturesque picnic spot. I was besotted with Domingo. As we wandered through the olive grove I struck a deal: he would allow me the occasional pat of his woolly neck and I would let him do what he wanted. Luckily the llamas are well trained and polite, so this was a fun way to enjoy an afternoon tea of champagne and olives. The llama walk is also a good opportunity to see one of the island's treasures - its koala colony, one of the few in Australia that are disease - free" . - Kylie Smith
